At the IFA 2024 trade show, Xgimi introduced several new products, including the ultra-compact and versatile projector: Elfin Flip. Set for release in September, this portable projector combines Full HD image quality with an innovative design and smart features.
In addition to the Aura 2, MoGo 3 Pro, and Horizon S Max models, Xgimi used the IFA Berlin trade show to showcase its new projector, capable of displaying images on any surface and at any angle. Much like the MoGo 3 Pro, which offers cylindrical shapes, this new model features an integrated stand adjustable up to 150 degrees. This feature not only allows for great flexibility in adjusting the projection angle but also protects the lens when the device is folded. This innovative design meets the growing demand for mobility and versatility.
You can easily carry the Elfin Flip in a backpack or a bag, making it ideal for professional presentations, spontaneous movie nights with friends, or even outdoor projections. The Elfin Flip is extremely compact, with dimensions of 24 cm x 22 cm x 6 cm and weighing only 1.2 kg.
What about image quality?
The Elfin Flip may be small, but it delivers a native Full HD image using Texas Instruments’ DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology with a 0.33-inch DMD chip, similar to competitors like the MoGo 3 Pro and the upcoming Dangbei Freedo, which will run on battery power. The brand claims a brightness of 400 lumens ISO, so it’s best enjoyed in a darkened environment. Xgimi promises a lifespan of around 25,000 hours, meaning you can use it for several years without needing to replace the LED light source.
Smart features for simplified use Like other projectors in its category, the Elfin Flip includes several technologies designed to facilitate its operation. It features automatic keystone correction and automatic focus, which allow for a perfectly adjusted image regardless of the projection surface. This means it’s ready to use almost immediately, allowing you to start enjoying it within just a few seconds.
The projector runs on Xgimi OS 10, providing direct access to a multitude of streaming applications. Netflix is preinstalled. In terms of connectivity, the Elfin Flip has an HDMI port and a USB port, allowing you to connect external sources such as computers, game consoles or USB sticks. It is also Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatible. For sound, the projector is equipped with two Harman Kardon speakers of 3W each. It will still be possible to connect an external sound system via Bluetooth or audio output.
