“TCL NXTFrame TV, the television that transforms into a painting”

For the IFA 2024 trade show, TCL is introducing a fresh approach with a brand-new series within its television lineup. This series includes the NXTFrame TV and NXTFrame TV Pro models. Both versions are available in 55, 65, and 75 inches, with references 55A300W, 55A300 Pro, 65A300W, 65A300 Pro, 75A300W, and 75A300 Pro.

The main difference between the “classic” and Pro ranges is that the Pro models come with a soundbar and a subwoofer designed in collaboration with Bang & Olufsen, a renowned name in the audio industry. Both audio elements are wireless, communicating via Wi-Fi, but they also support Bluetooth, allowing them to be used independently as audio systems, for instance, to play music directly from a mobile device.

Both television models come with a wall-mount kit, as they are intended to be mounted on the wall. However, it is also possible to place them on a piece of furniture, if necessary. The mount is extremely thin to give the impression that the TV is “stuck” to the wall. Additionally, TCL claims a thickness of only 2.7 cm for the screen, with a specially designed back to ensure it is particularly flat. The TCL NXTFrame TV Pro models also come with T-shaped accessories to install the soundbar below the screen, suspended from the wall-mount kit. The subwoofer is wireless.

An interchangeable frame for the TCL NXTFrame TV

TCL NXTFrame TVs come with a magnetic white frame featuring an aluminum finish. Users can choose to keep it as is or switch to the light oak wood-effect frame that comes with the TV for a better match with their interior decor. TCL will also offer three additional finishes, available separately: ebony wood, apple green, or black. Thanks to the magnetic system, it only takes a few seconds to change the TV’s appearance.

Additionally, TCL will provide a tripod stand, also sold separately, mounted on wheels to allow easy movement of the TV (and soundbar, if applicable) from one room to another. The tripod includes a shelf for accessories and offers front or rear mounting options.

Content to Turn the TV into a True Work of Art
Beyond installation, TCL has also focused on the content that this new series can offer. The brand has partnered with the London National Museum to provide access to 427 exclusive free images. These are stored in the TV’s internal memory, so they can be enjoyed even when the TV is not connected to the internet. Additionally, users can import up to 50 more artworks they have downloaded, for example. Aside from the 40 or so images provided by the London National Museum, artworks can be displayed either as static images or, more creatively, as animated ones. Music can even be played while viewing the images.

Moreover, TCL offers a unique feature: the ability to generate an artwork using artificial intelligence. Whether connected or not, users can select an image type (watercolor, sketch, geometric shapes, etc.), then a theme (landscape, house, portrait, etc.), and finally a mood (from 80 possible choices). The TV will then generate a fixed or animated artwork, with up to five suggestions in offline mode or unlimited options when connected to the internet.

For other entertainment, the TVs are powered by Google TV, supporting all compatible apps.

Ultra HD LED LCD Art TVs with Dolby Vision, Ready for Gaming!

From a technical standpoint, TCL NXTFrame TVs feature a matte (non-reflective) VA LCD panel with edge LED backlighting, delivering Ultra HD resolution. They come equipped with Quantum Dot filters and support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision video formats, as well as Dolby Atmos audio (though this excludes the soundbar in the NXTFrame TV Pro model). Image processing is handled by the AIPQ Pro chipset. These TVs support a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, making them perfect for PC gaming. TCL also promises an input lag of just 13.9 ms (Ultra HD/60), along with support for VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode), and a maximum brightness of 450 cd/m². Several HDMI 2.1 ports are included on these models.

Audio Features

The TCL NXTFrame TV Pro models come with a soundbar and subwoofer, creating a 3.1.2 channel system. The soundbar features upward-firing speakers, delivering a total power output of 290W (230W for the soundbar and 60W for the subwoofer), according to the brand.

Pricing and Availability

The TCL NXTFrame TV and NXTFrame TV Pro models will be available at the end of September. The 55-inch TCL NXTFrame TV is expected to cost around $1,300, while the TCL NXTFrame TV Pro will be priced around $1,600. The 65-inch TCL NXTFrame TV will be available for approximately $1,700, with its Pro counterpart slightly under $2,000.
