The OnePlus 13 is just around the corner. The president of the Chinese brand has announced that it will be unveiled next month.
We are eagerly anticipating the next high-end smartphone from OnePlus. The OnePlus 12 caught our eye despite some imperfections.
A Launch with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4
Louis Lee, president of OnePlus, announced on the Chinese social media platform Weibo that the OnePlus 13 will come with “the latest generation of flagship chips.” This year, the chip we’re all waiting for is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4.
This SoC will compete against MediaTek’s Dimensity 9300+ and Apple’s A18. In terms of raw power, it will be far ahead of Google’s Tensor G4, which is already outdated compared to the current generation.
This overpowered chip should enable Genshin Impact to run at 120 frames per second, bringing mobile gaming fluidity to a new level.
Release in USA Early 2025?
The OnePlus 13 might be launched a few weeks later. Rumors suggest a release around Single Day (November 11) in China and early 2025 for the rest of the world.
From what we know about the OnePlus 13, it might feature a slightly reduced camera setup. From the three sensors of 50, 48, and 64 MP on the OnePlus 12, we might see three 50 MP sensors on the new model, including a 3x periscope zoom benefiting from Hasselblad’s improvements for portrait shots.
A lower resolution, but likely higher-quality sensors. Additionally, it is expected to have a larger battery, with a 6000 mAh capacity, 600 mAh more than its predecessor.
Finally, let’s hope OnePlus has addressed the issues of the OnePlus 12, such as screen calibration and the IP65 rating, which is too low for a high-end device.
