Here is the ZT3 Pro E, the latest electric scooter from Segway-Ninebot. Sold at a recommended retail price of 699 euros, this model impresses with its highly attractive specifications. A maximum power of 1600 W, 50 km of range in Sport mode, and dual telescopic suspension. This has never been seen before at this price.
It’s hard to make a bigger impact than this for the back-to-school week. Segway-Ninebot has launched a brand-new electric scooter that is already shaping up to be a bestseller, thanks to its impressive technical specifications and controlled price. Introducing the ZT3 Pro E, which combines urban and off-road capabilities.
Let’s start with the price to put the following features into perspective: 700 USD as the recommended retail price. For this price, you get an electric scooter delivering an impressive peak power of 1600 W. Unprecedented. Note: its maximum speed remains capped at 25 km/h.
Dual suspension
Such power is actually a considerable advantage for overcoming significant uphill gradients. Segway mentions slopes of up to 25%. Comfort has not been neglected either: you can count on dual telescopic suspension. Finding this type of suspension on a scooter sold for 700 USD is rare and worth noting, especially when it’s a dual setup.
Another standout feature: 11-inch off-road tubeless tires – while the market standard has been stuck at 10 inches for several years – which will delight the more adventurous among you. Additionally, these knobby tires are designed to improve traction, especially on wet or dry surfaces. Also noteworthy is the significant 152 mm ground clearance, allowing you to clear slightly higher obstacles with ease.
With a range of 70 km in Eco mode (50 km in Sport mode), integrated front and rear turn signals, TCS anti-slip system, a 3-inch display, 4 W front light, 4-hour fast charging, stability enhancement system, and a load capacity of 120 kg, the ZT3 Pro E checks many boxes, making it hard to find fault with it on paper.
Unknown weight
Of course, Bluetooth connectivity is available for pairing with the Segway mobile app, with the added bonus of the Apple Find My feature exclusively for iOS users. This is a nice security addition. As for water resistance, the ZT3 Pro E is rated IPX5, meaning it is protected against water splashes. In other words, it’s usable in the rain.
One mystery remains: its weight. Segway conveniently left that detail out… So we asked them: unsurprisingly, it’s a heavyweight at 29.7 kg. If you plan to carry it up the stairs of your building, good luck. An elevator seems far more appropriate.
In any case, this Segway is taking direct aim at the powerful, often off-road-oriented Dualtron models. The key difference is that Dualtron’s price ranges are much higher than Segway’s.
